Blackheads: Pesky Little Pore Cloggers PDF Print E-mail

Do you really know what blackheads are and what happens with them?  If not, let me clue you in on the facts.  They are made up of dirt and oil which is oxidized by the air, transforming it into that nasty little stiff thing that is sooo hard to get rid of.  This is but a subtle form of Acne, and you may be “blessed” with pimples coming from that blackhead.  They are most often found dominating your nose.  Take a look!  How many can you see now?  Bet there are tons of those little pore cloggers just waiting to make trouble and give you that big red blimp on your nose!

Have you taken a look in the mirror lately? A good close look? Chances are you have some of those annoying blackheads around your nose. Everyone has them sooner or later. Blackheads are just a fact of life. You may not be able to totally prevent them, but you can take steps to keep them from taking over.

Let's face it, most of us get zits. It's not some "exclusive to teens" skin problem that just up and leaves town when you finally reach the age of twenty. This irksome burden sticks around as long as you let it. That's right; I said let it. Who says that pimples get to rule our lives and destroy our confidence? These days we have access to plenty of treatments and remedies that have the ability to obliterate this self-esteem breaking affliction. Aren't you ready to squelch those nasty blemishes into oblivion? Oh, I almost forgot; what about blackheads? Well, these little buggers may be a tad trickier.

Even though blackheads are black, hence the name, it isn’t dirt clogging your pores. The main culprit is sebum, an oil produced by sebaceous glands.

The thing I hate about blackheads is not necessarily the fact that they're clogging my pores, but that they always come back. It doesn't matter how much you pinch, squeeze, and pry; those annoying blackheads repetitively return to your nose and face. You'd think that once they were gone, you'd be good to go. But life just can't be that simple. Well, there fortunately are ways to remove blackheads. First of all, you may want to avoid clawing at your nose in a desperate attempt to squeeze them all out. This procedure often causes irritation, which can create more blackheads.

One way to remove blackheads involves a warm washcloth and a Biore strip. First you apply the warm wash cloth to open your pores. Leave it on for five minutes, and then slap on a Biore strip. After 15 minutes of drying, the Biore strip should pull a good 50% of those blackheads right out. However, make sure that you use proper caution. Those nose strips can be rather powerful. In addition, you can also resort to a quality blackhead remover. This is a nifty little precision tool that can gently press the blackheads from the nose and face. There are many over the counter facial products designed to help you win the battle against blackheads. Look on the label for an ingredient called benzoyl peroxide. Regular use of this anti acne product along with frequent skin washings to remove oil and makeup will help keep the sebum from building up in your pores.
